Operator notes / A life in progress

Not a straight
line.

I’m Jay—a Navy veteran, father of three, writer, founder, and builder from Northern California. Curiosity has carried me through service, business, creativity, reinvention, and whatever comes next.

The detours were the point.

01 // Chapters, not credentials

A life learned
by living it.

01

Service

The Navy taught me to move without ideal conditions and work the problem directly in front of me.

02

Detours

Businesses, experiments, wrong turns, useful failures, and lessons thinking alone could not provide.

03

Fatherhood

Three children changed the stakes. The work became less about proving and more about showing what is possible.

04

Now

Writing, building, studying humans and AI, and staying open to the next honest question.

02 // Still becoming

The detours gave me
the material.

I spent years believing the crooked path meant I had fallen behind. Now I know better. The scars gave me the language. The people gave me the reason to use both. I’m not presenting a finished life—only evidence of one still being lived.
