Privacy · The straightforward part
Privacy,plainly.
What this site collects
Very little. This site does not use cookies or advertising trackers of its own, and its images are served from the site itself. Its fonts load from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser details to deliver them. It does use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first service that counts visits, pages viewed, countries, browsers and page speed. It sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not build a profile of you. It is not run for visitors in the European Union.
Like any website, the company that hosts it (Cloudflare) receives standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. That is how the web works, and it is handled under the host's own policies.
Videos
Where a page has a video, it starts as a still image with a play button. Nothing loads from Vimeo, which hosts the videos, until you press play. After that, Vimeo receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. This site asks Vimeo not to track playback (Vimeo's "do not track" setting).
Maps
The route map on the About page can show a real map of a place. Nothing loads until you press “See the real place”. After that, OpenStreetMap, which provides the map, receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, under its own privacy policy. Close the map and nothing more is loaded.
The contact page
When you send a note from the contact page, the name, email address and message you type are sent to Jay by email through Resend, an email delivery service, and are used only to reply to you. Nothing is added to a mailing list. The page loads one outside script, Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person and not a bot is sending the note. The form posts to this site's own server, which passes it to Resend.
The interactive parts
The sketch pad, the scoreboard, the certificate, the what-if poster and the other small experiments run entirely in your browser. What you type or draw stays in your browser unless you choose to send a note or share it. Taking an idea to the contact page fills in your note without sending the idea to a server. The idea is removed from the address bar once your note is filled in. Sending the contact form emails the note to Jay as described above. If you save an image, it goes to your own device.
Links to other sites
Some links lead to other websites, such as Constant Marketing, LinkedIn, or the tools listed on the Tools page. Those sites have their own policies.
What will change this page
Your personal information is not sold. If an email list or anything else that collects information is added later, this page will be updated to say what it is and why, before it starts.
